Family Sock Hop

We went to the "Family Sock Hop" put on by our school tonight.  It was very fun!  The kids danced and danced!!  They really wore themselves out by the end of the night!  Wyatt would act all cool when I would try to take his picture, but then when he thought I wasn't looking , he would bust a move!!  It was hilarious!  Brenna loved the whole night!  She would find her friends and dance and run around.  Cute.  It was a very fun night!!

A few things

*Is it wrong to watch "BIGGEST LOSER"  WHILE eating SEE'S CANDY?? 
(Vince and I have been feeling a little guilty enjoying the last of our See's while watching one of our favorite shows!!)

*Bryant still wants me to carry him places.  He is way too big for that!  When my boy is tired, I have to admit, I give in.    - Bad - I know. (It is hard to have your baby grow up.  You just want to keep them small...)   --THANKFULLY   lately he has been announcing, "I want to walk"!  YEAH!

*Today I cleaned 3 out of my 4 bathrooms and my laundry is done.

*The Pinewood Derby is in one week.  This year we have TWO cub scouts in the race.  Their cars are currently blocks of wood in the unopened box. 

*Today... Another busy day... When 3:00 hits, we are off and running to THIS and THAT.  Today's "this and that" was... Vince coaching Middle School basketball (Riley is loving having his dad as coach!), Wyatt's basketball practice, a meeting during practice with the head of the 4 day school week committee, rush home to Oooo and Ahhh at Preston who is practicing SO HARD to get the "RIPSTICK" down... , rush inside to pull dinner together,  drive Riley to mutual and then to my Relief Society meeting,  Vince and I giving Wyatt speeches about telling the truth, helping Preston finish homework that he said was already finished...  helping Riley remember how thankful he should be that his mother does his laundry and that he just needs to put it away  and  FINALLY ... our bedtime routine.  Prayers, Piggyback ride for Brenna into bed, read a book, tuck Bryant in with Vince singing "The Lemonade Song" and Me singing "Twinkle Twinkle",  telling Preston and Wyatt 56 times "Shhh!  Go to bed", telling my teenager that it is too late to be up, and then sending Vince out the door to work.  Ahhh, is it quiet in my house??  Why, YES IT IS!  But then again, it IS 11:27 PM!!  Goodnight!!  :)

A Girl and Her Make-up

Brenna loves her make-up!!  She got this set of "lip gloss and eye shadow" for Christmas and couldn't be more thrilled!! She keeps it in her bathroom and takes good care to ensure that Bryant doesn't get into it.

 She puts it on to go outside to play, or just to feel pretty. 

My favorite time is when she walks up to me and tries to catch my attention with her smile and ... Whoa!! ... This is what I see!!  Yep,  She is my  girly girl!!

 (We will need to have a few make-up application lessons BEFORE she turns 12!)

Sunday Cookies

We like to make cookies Sunday night.   We don't do it EVERY Sunday, but it is a fun treat!! 

Bryant and Brenna are my helpers and sneak as many licks as they can.  Brenna insists on sitting on the counter and helping with every measurement.  She licks the beater and Bryant usually ends up with the little spoon.  Preston always tries to convince me that he only had 3 cookies when I KNOW he had at least 4!!   Riley always sneaks the cookie dough from the fridge if I don't bake them all that night.

THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS I CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON.

BUT no matter what,  I still have a hard time believing this one...

Our Sunbeam

My baby is a sunbeam!!  I can hardly believe it!

We were just returning from our trip last week and did not make it back in time for church.  So today was our first day with our new classes and WOW... I can hardly believe Bryant is old enough to be a sunbeam!  (With a December birthday he is the youngest and does seem very small compared to all the other primary kids).  -- Mostly I think it is in my head... he is my baby! 

Are we really out of Nursery... for good?   

Amazing how time moves so quickly and like it or not, things change. 

We sang "Jesus wants me as a Sunbeam!" several times and Bryant was excited for his first day in Primary.    Although he really didn't know what that meant until we were at church and we didn't bring him to his usual classroom.   As I peeked through the small window of the primary door and saw him sitting on those little chairs, I was amazed.   I so badly wanted to take a picture.   

The moment captured forever in my mind instead.  

As soon as we got home I said, "Bryant let me take your picture.  We have to remember your first day as a Sunbeam!!"    He agreed and was happy at first, but he soon remembered that he was hungry and wanted a cookie, and... well... you get the idea.

New Year... New Blog

Confession.
I have been down-right AWFUL at posting these last few months!   I want to remember the little things, ... but forgetting the most important part of that... the "posting on my blog" part!!!  BLAH!  I am repenting right now!!

These last few months I have been scribbling notes for myself about this and that --- BUT life has been busy... really busy!  The blog has been put on the back burner...

My whole purpose for starting my blog 2 years ago was to remember the little parts of life that I would surely forget over time.  I wanted my kids to look back and remember "the everyday" of when they were small.  Things we said and did.  The good, bad and the ugly!  :)   OUR REAL LIFE!    I wanted to write down what was happening right now so that I could recognize (even in the chaos) our VERY MANY BLESSINGS!!   I also intended to make my blog into a book and have a tangible journal to cherish!!

SO... this is my new beginning!  --  A NEW YEAR AND A NEW BLOG!!    ---  I will "fill in" the old blog and turn that digital treasure into my tangible gift to myself!!  AND  I will keep up with the new, so I will be able to pass on the treasure of our family history to ourselves! 

NOTE:    Writing that down did not automatically make me less busy...  :)  Hmmm. --   I WILL DO MY VERY BEST!!  (Who needs sleep?)
