Monday.  Brenna made me this sweet "welcome home sign".  My girl... so sweet!  I missed her too! :)

Sunday.  Dad brought me to the airport very early this morning.  (What a good dad!)   As I sat and waited for my flight, I pondered the great time that I had with my parents.  The pearls of wisdom that I gleaned from them.  The calming spirit that they have.  The great example of service and the love that they share for each other.  I will wrap that all up in a little bow and take it with me as a gift.  I will take that gift back home with me to share with my family.  To help me through when times feel difficult.  To be that encouraging voice in my head.  Thank you mom and dad for the wonderful trip, and for just being who you are!

  Saturday.  Mom made fudge last night to teach me and Becky how it is done.  I just don't have confidence in myself with fudge.  Ohhhh, but I love it!!  It is divine!! 

We then went to a plantation.  It was cool!!  It is a working plantation.  They still grow many things and give a wonderful tour!  We learned all about slaves on plantations and how their life was back then.  Saw the beautiful grounds and marveled at the size and production that this plantation had.  We saw many other wonderful sights, including where George Washington did, well just about anything in Charleston... went to church, slept, went to a ball, and saved a tree! :)  It was cool! 

We went to Fort Moultrie and walked on the beach for a little while.  It was beautiful and relaxing. Mom and Dad are very happy.  It was so nice to visit with them.  Feel of their spirit.  They are in the service of our Lord and that obviously agrees with them!  Charleston South Carolina is a lucky place to have these 2!

Friday.  Today we started off at the Relief Society.  The is a Navy organization that helps sailors.  Mom and Dad volunteer every week.  We then headed over to the ferry boat to go to Fort Sumter.  This was a neat tour.  There is so much history in this town.  American history.  Did you know that this area is not only the place where the Civil War began, but the Revolutionary War as well!?  We learned and saw so much.  We then thought it would be fun to go see one of the oldest live oak trees around, the Angel Oak Tree.  It is 65ft high and it has a 25.5 ft circumference.  It is thought to be 400 years old.  (Funny thing, another article on the Angel Oak said it was 1600 years old) That is quite a difference we thought.  ??  At the end of the night we were tuckered out from all of our touring around.  Especially little Drew!  What a fun, busy day!!

Thursday.  First day in South Carolina with mom and dad.  We went to "Hominy Grill" for breakfast and tried "The Big Nasty".  It was really good.  It was fun to try some real southern food.  It was great to visit and catch up and tour around their town.  Mom and Dad had many places lined up for us.  They are such good hosts.  We learned a lot of S.C. history and really got to know the area.  Drew was a great tourist too.

Wednesday.  Grandma Gibson meets Drew!  Becky and I decided to make a trip out to South Carolina to visit my parents who are on a mission.  This is at the airport when Becky and Drew got off the plane.  Sweet!  It was wonderful to see mom and dad and to experience life with them for a few days!

Tuesday.  Bryant loves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  It is a new thing for him.  We have not been big PB&J people because of Riley's allergy.  In fact I don't think Preston has ever had a PB&J.  Ever.  Isn't that amazing, to be 11 and a half and never have had a peanut buter and jelly sandwich??  I think he just grew up during the time when we were SO careful for Riley and he just decided he didn't like it either.  Wyatt likes PB and has recently taken it in his school lunch.  Brenna says she doesn't like it.  Bryant Loves it.  He even likes to help me make it, and it must be cut down the middle.  So opinionated, this boy!
