Preston would scout out which car he should cheer for. He would ask everyone, "which car are you rooting for?" As soon as we were all set as to who was rooting for which car, the derby would begin. SMASH, BANG, CRUNCH! Preston's car always seemed to come out on top! It really was Amazing!
I loved watching these cars demolish each other... and then I look up and see the beautiful Logan Temple. It was a bit of a clash for my brain! :)
This is the only shot I got of Riley. He enjoyed the derby, as you can see from this picture. I had to sneek this pic. He was being a teenage boy in true form, and was a little bugged with his mom taking pictures. Ha ha... caught ya smiling!!
This was "halftime". We had read in the paper that at halftime they would let kids chase a greased pig.
-SURPRISINGLY- Wyatt wanted to chase the greased pig SO BAD!! There was a $50 award to the kid who caught the pig, and Wyatt just knew it was going to be him! ---Unfortunately, there was no greased pig. They called out the kids to the mud pit. They all ran around like crazy monkeys. Dancing to some loud music. And then it was over. No pig.
Here is Wyatt. The LAST kid to leave the arena. Disappointed? Yes. He later said, "That's all right, there is always next year!" What a good kid! -- I would have loved to see him chase a pig! Can't even imagine it. ... Maybe next year :)
This poor suburban... being towed off the field with no back tire and a bent front tire and crunched everywhere that could possibly be crunched! I thought his phrase "I NEED HELP" said it perfectly!! Oh this was fun!!
Thanks Nana and Papa for a really great time in Logan. It was great to see your little piece of summer heaven!
We hopped in the car about 9:30pm after the derby and drove all night. I don't know how Vince does it... We made it home about 9:00 in the morning. It could not be an easier ride for the kids. They go to sleep at night and wake up at home! Traffic is little to none. Stopping only for gas and quick bathroom breaks if need be.
--We are thankful to be home after a wonderful 2 weeks on the road!!
