August 17-23, 2014

I helped out with the book fair this week at school.  It was fun and busy as usual.  Brenna and Bryant picked out a few books, but somehow we also walked away with new posters too.  How'd that happen?  haha

This week was open house at Marana High School.  I enjoyed following Preston's schedule and meeting and listening to all of his teachers.  I loved the new "Be Kind" art on campus. Our Red Rock School also is a "Kind School".  We love the Ben's Bells Program.  Inspired!

Friday, August 22.  I had an Auxiliary Training Meeting where Sister Jean A. Stevens, First Counselor in the Primary General Presidency spoke to us.  It was really amazing!  She spoke for an hour with no notes.  It was inspiring!  I was so impressed by her knowledge and kind spirit!
From my notes...
"You are in the Lord's hands.  He will do with you what He will.  Have peace knowing that the Lord is in charge.  He knows us individually.  He is in the details of our lives."
"It is through the Lord's hand that we are lifted.  -When circumstances don't change, but peace comes to your heart, ... it is because WE ARE NOT ALONE!"  Rely on Him.

The auxiliary training meeting was held at the Bonanza building on the East side of town. It took us (my presidency) an hour to get there.  I haven't been to this building in a very long time.  This is where I went to church as a teenager and where Vince and I had our wedding reception.  Yep, its been awhile!  I had to take a moment when I arrived to appreciate the view and snap a picture.

Saturday afternoon.  Wyatt returns from an overnight camp-out with the scouts.  He is thrilled to have his mom take a picture of his sunburned cheeks and his filthy self.  Can't you tell? :)

Preston had a camp-out of his own this weekend.  The Varsity Cross Country team left friday at noon from school and had a 2 nighter in Mt. Lemmon.  It is a bonding tradition and they get to practice running in the higher elevation.  His team did 6 runs in 2 days, for a total of 14.2 miles.  He loved it!
